How to stick to promises for new year?

I feel like it is most basic post ever, but then again maybe I might need it in a month or so, hahaha so let's just get on with it. I got this idea because I actually got so, so stuck on the second day of January, great going. But the most important thing is I ignored it, got up and had such an amazing day.

And we could all use some motivation time to time.

So few things to do:

  • Remember why you have that goal or wish. For example if you want to work out but just don't feel it...wiggle a bit, go for walk, make a smoothie first. Find something that motivates you to work out or to go your limits
  • Tell your friends about it and do it with them maybe. If you plan was to take a walk every day, take your friends, family, dogs with you. Or find a great podcast to listen to. I've been loving podcasts lately!
  • Imagine the end result every day. Might sound a bit cringe, but if you had plan to be positive this year and you wake up hating yourself. Then do some little things that warm your heart...drink cacao, write, read...and then doing things that make you happy you can remember that ahh okay maybe it isn't that bad and it will make me happier in a long term. Or imagine how would you feel after doing it that day Of course it is hard some days, but just to remember the end goal is to be happy.
  • Make it fun. If you want to read every day but can't be bothered to pick up a book. Then maybe start with a book that it is a light read and fun book...don't pick up a heavy economic book and if you have problem with focusing then do like 20-20. Read 20 minutes and then do something else 20 minutes, stretch, text your friends etc. Or find a great place to listen to audio book, find out what is your groove!
  • If you are stuck do something. I feel like this year started with so many thoughts that I should change this or that. Then talk to someone, even if it is your dog. I mean I would recommend a friend, but we all know sometimes it can be hard. Or write it all down, so one day you can look back and remind yourself how you got through it.
  • Don't go crazy. I feel like around me I have few people who in my opinion try too hard. I am not saying that it is bad. But I DO think that you don't have to always try to give yourself to the world, I don't care what every self care book says. But giving yourself a break is necessary, and if you can't then maybe you need to work with your thoughts. And it is okay if you have only 1 thing to do. Here fits a quote, Carly Rowena mentions a lot "It is okay if all you today is breathe"
